Record-setting temperatures heated up the course at the Jackson Hospital Foundation’s sixth annual Swinging Fore Healthcare golf tournament August 26 at Wynlakes Country Club. The popular event offered a competitive day of golf for some 220 businessmen, physicians and friends, who enjoyed the hos-pitality of 15 vendor tents along the course. Vendors competed for Best Showmanship (tie: Alabama Artifcial Limb & Orthope-dic Services and Hillview Terrace/Rehab Select), Signature Re-freshment (HealthSouth), Best Giveaway (Rehab 1st at Capitol Hill) and Most Creative (Hillview Terrace/Rehab Select). Golf winners (morning and afternoon respectively) included:

First place gross: Coca-Cola and Capitol Chevrolet

Second place gross: Dr. Felix Allen and Alabama Pathology

First place net: Pilgreen Engineering and Reinhardt Lexus

Second place net: Wilson Price Barranco, Blankenship & Bill-ingsley and Ingram Construction

All golfers received a signature green shirt sponsored by the Jackson Imaging Center and Iberia Bank. Breakfast was provided by Midtown Chick-fl-A, while a late-afternoon barbecue was served by presenting sponsor Jackson Imaging Center.Wynlakes served lunch, and beverage sponsor Haynes Ambulance kept golfers hydrated along the course.

Net proceeds from this year’s event, which topped $110,000, will beneft cardiovascular services at Jackson Hospital.
