VICKY JONES’S FOOTPRINT has been frmly p the grounds of Jackson Hospital.What began as a education soon led her to the doors of Jackson H the place where she was to work for the next 30 “Never in my wildest dreams would I have ev ined that my best and most gratifying years of e ment would have been spent in healthcare,” sh “Specifcally as the vice president of operations a son and the former president of the Foundation! Jones began her career as president of the J Hospital Foundation in 1981. She created th nual giving club—the Touchstone Society—an frst capital campaign led to the creation of the McGough Oncology Unit.

“The [Jackson Hospital] Foundation is essent Jackson Hospital’s ability to shine in Alabama,” said. “And the work of the Foundation reaches so many areas, from scholarships [to] employe sistance programs, purchases of equipment and r vations, construction of new facilities, recognitio physicians—and the list goes on and on.”

THE SPIRIT LIVES ON

Upon her retirement, a scholarship fund was created in Jones’s name, with funds dedicated to help further the education of cur-rent Jackson Hospital employees.

“To have an employee scholarship fund in my name is per-haps the highest honor I have ever received,” she said. “Employ-ees are Jackson Hospital’s most valuable asset, and to be able to give back to them in some small way what they have given to our community is a privilege which cannot be taken lightly.” This fund will recognize and help employees who want to put in the extra effort and sacrifce to improve themselves through advanced certifcations or higher education. They are hard-working, loyal team members who have earned our support. “My hope is that everyone whose experience with Jack-son Hospital was made a little better because of one of these
