jackson.org 11 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR Volunteers have long been an asset to Jackson Hospital in many ways. Sandra Lee, the Jackson Hospital Volunteer of the Year, is no exception. Lee has been a volunteer for three years now and greatly enjoys being able to meet new people and help people as often as she can. Her involvement with the program includes serving on the Advisory Board and training new volunteers at the information desk. She is also known to always go above and beyond her normally scheduled two days a week and fill in for others when needed. When she is not serving Jackson Hospital, Lee enjoys spending time with her chil- dren, grandchildren and three dogs. She also enjoys reading, traveling, knitting and crocheting. We cannot thank her enough for all that she does for Jackson Hospital! What volunteers do • Help families find their way around the hospital • Deliver get-well cards and other gifts to patients • Raise funds for hospital programs • Assist with filing, data entry or other office duties • Make or donate toys for our younger patients Good for you While volunteering undeniably helps patients, it also benefits the volunteers themselves. “I love being able to give back to my community by helping at the hospital,” said long-time volunteer Sandra Lee. “I look forward to spending time here each week.” Sandra Lee, Volunteer of the Year
