As we look forward to 2019, we want to reflect on this past year and all of the advancements in healthcare we have made. This year, Jackson Hospital and Clinic has seen expansion and growth of new technology and service lines. Thanks to our incredible team of doctors, nurses and support staff, we are able to faithfully provide the best care for you, your family and the River Region. In 2018, we increased our service line to now include electrophysiology, which is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of irregular heartbeats. This technology is not found anywhere else in the area, and we are honored to be able to make this service more readily avail- able for our community. We welcome Tamjeed Arshad, MD, a cardiovascular disease specialist, to the Jackson family. He and his team in the cath lab are ex- ceptionally trained in the detection and treatment of arrhythmias. This year also brought new technol- ogy to the Jackson Imaging Center. For years, recurring prostate cancer was difficult to detect. The new PET prostate exam is an easy, pain-free way to find prostate cancer early and to treat the disease more precisely. The PET scan is only available in the River Region at the Jackson Imaging Center. As the area’s largest multispecialty clinic, Jackson Hospital continues to lead the way in technology in the River Region.
