SKEET SHOOT The inaugural Blasting Through P.A.D. Skeet Shoot was held September 7 at the Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club. The event was held to raise awareness for PAD, or peripheral arterial disease, a common circulatory condition in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the limbs, most commonly the legs. The disease often goes undiagnosed, leading to even more health problems. The event benefited the Jackson Hospital Foundation’s support of the vascular services department. 45 YEARS OF SERVICE Our annual Service Award banquet sees many milestone anniversaries, but it’s not every year that we present a 45-year Service Award! Fran Smith, who currently works in the business office, has served Jackson Hospital for 45 years. Thank you, Fran, for all of the time you have dedicated to Jackson! PHARMACIST OF THE YEAR Tommy Cobb, Director of Pharmacy Services at Jackson Hospital, has been awarded Health System Pharmacist of the Year by the Alabama Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ALSHP). This is the highest award ALSHP can bestow on any member. It’s presented to an ALSHP active member to honor outstanding accom- plishments and service to ALSHP and to health- system pharmacy prac- tice. In addition, Cobb is now ALSHP’s president- elect. Congratulations, Tommy, on these out- standing achievements!
