The signs of spring are all around our beautiful campus, and it reminds me of the ever-increasing spark of life—especially in the vast area of health and technology that is able to save lives right here at home in the River Region. The dedication of our Jackson Foundation to fund crucial projects over the years has been outstanding—projects such as the recent renovations to the McGough Oncology Center and the Family Birth Center, specialized training and education for our professional teams, as well as scholarships for our future healthcare providers. Thank you for taking the care of our communities to the next level. In this issue of Partners , we look back at the tremendous generosity of our Jackson Foundation donors and the impact made on lives in the River Region. Advances in technology at Jackson Hospital allow our teams to lead the way for better, safer care at home in our community. Recently, Dr. Tamjeed Arshad and the Electrophysiology Team implanted the first Micra leadless pace- maker. At a quarter of an inch, Micra is signifi- cantly smaller and less invasive. Thanks to this new technology, patients will experience fewer complications than with traditional pacemakers. Additionally, our Robotic Teams lead the way for minimally invasive and less painful procedures and speedier recoveries, providing advanced care in General Surgery, Gynecology and Urology. With more leading-edge technology and advanced techniques introduced every day, our Jackson Hospital vision seeks to be on the forefront of technological advancements to care for those we serve. Whether we are making additions, physical improvements or adding the latest technology to our campus, our Mission is to serve you better. I know small things make a big difference, and we hope to continually expand our services in this ever-changing world of healthcare.
