CONGRATULATIONS!
We’re proud of all our Jackson Hospital employees who participated in the
Montgomery Corporate Challenge. (Pictured above, from left to right: Terry Reid,

WHEN CITY OFFICIALS
learned that
Montgomery was one of the most obese cit-
ies in the country, they knew something had
to be done. That’s how Jackson Hospital,
with several other businesses and organiza-
tions, joined together on Saturday, May 5,
for the Montgomery Corporate Challenge.
Through the spirit of corporate competi-
tion, the event promoted fitness, fun and
fellowship by engaging participants in skill
contests and athletic endeavors designed to
challenge their minds and bodies. Several
Jackson employees joined the team.
“Jackson Hospital started Community
Challenge in 1984, and it ran 16 years un-
til 1999,” said Patrick Wood, development
director for the Jackson Hospital Founda-
tion. “I am glad the city of Montgomery
brought this event back as the Montgom-
ery Corporate Challenge. Our employees
loved it, and we can’t wait until next year!”
Meeting the challenge
The Jackson team spent their Saturday
pushing one another to the limit.
“Some of us were in better shape than
others, but we came together as a team,
gave it our all and had plenty of laughs
getting it done,” said Kris Carpenter, IS
director. “Many thanks to Patrick Wood
for getting us all together.”
Blake Meadows, a nurse in the emer-
gency room, said, “I was proud to be part
of this great event.”
The team placed third overall in divi-
sion 4 (for businesses with 751 or more
employees) and received 13 gold, 7 silver
and 18 bronze medals.
